Normally I would not consider doing anything ON a Sabbat because Sabbats themselves are special enough. However, this year is so so so special, I have decided to get married.
I have been with CJ (also referred to as Zyon) for almost a decade. In that time we have had so many things thrown at us (yes, I am sure most couples have) but I truly believe he and I withstood some of the worst situations ever - situations that easily split people up. In fact, over the summer it got to the point where he and I were going to go our separate ways, for good.
To save you all from the drama, let's just say that he and I both got our acts together and are now FINALLY on the right path. Since we've been together for so long, an engagement just doesn't make sense - jumping ahead to getting married does, so we've decided to do it on Samhain.
So, tomorrow at 3:30pm, the Witchlets, my mom, and my grandma will accompany us for a quick ceremony at the District Magistrate. Then, out to dinner to celebrate and afterwards, trick or treating with the Witchlets! What better way to cerebrate?!
We just want to make it official tomorrow. We will be planning a handfasting ceremony for next year. I am excited! I can't wait to start another chapter in my life.
People are without power, trees are down causing all sorts of messes, and there is no end in sight yet...
Unbelievable for October in PA.
Maybe I am just a cynical Bitch, but I was quite disturbed when my kids came home from PUBLIC school with a postcard invitation from "Crossover Church" sponsoring "Trunk or Treat" - YES...TRUNK or Treat...see for yourself:
So a very conservative church (who isn't even around here - at least I have never heard of them and when doing a Google search, found nothing about them here in PA) is hosting a gathering for children for Halloween - a holiday that is very against their beliefs...to make things safe for these kids - so, come get candy out of the trunk of a car!! LMAO - sorry, that just sounds soooo wrong.
I wonder if they will be proselytizing...
This morning when I took Wyatt to school we got detoured down a road I had never been on, in all the years I have lived in this town! To my surprise, there were several houses for rent on this street and they were nice houses.
I hate owning a home - it's too expensive, too time consuming, too much of a pain in the butt. However, I am currently a homeowner - in a house that needs lots of work. Lately I have been pondering whether it is better to move r simply fix this place up. I have used my Tarot deck for guidance but I got some mixed answers. Sigh. Guess the Universe isn't ready to answer me :(
I never really used Runes. If you have, how do you like the results vs a Tarot deck?
With Samhain upon us it is only a matter of time before Old Man Winter is knocking. Do you have any plans for the Winter?
A friend of mine is considering furthering her education online with WaldenU.edu. Of course, this peaked my interest so I took a look at Walden University's online degree programs to learn more about Walden and what they have to offer.
I usually take the Winter time to work on my weight loss goals as well as getting my house in order - you know, domestic stuff. However, this Winter maybe a new goal should be my focus. My career kind of got stunted when I became a mom. I have been home since Olivia was born and although I managed to find work online and started my own small business, I feel there is always room for improvement.
Around here, the Winter drags. It starts around mid-November and lasts well into March; 4-5 months of feeling blah...online schooling might be just what I need to keep me from falling into a funk. I try to like Winter. I try to enjoy the cold weather, the ice storms, and the snow, but ugh, I just do not like it at all!
We are having such beautiful autumn weather this week! The outdoor thermometer reads 68ยบ right now and it is after 2pm already! Fall is truly my favorite season - I only wish it lasted longer.
Today's weather reminds me of a warm day last November. I thought the coloring of this tree was simply breathtaking:
What is your favorite season?
Oh, it feels like an eternity since I updated, I am so sorry! We got back from vacation and got not so good news regarding a few things that I really do not want to get into. Anyway, on the upside, we had a fabulous time in Disney World! Here are a few pictures from the trip:
Now back to work AND thinking about the upcoming holidays. Cyber Week will be here before I know it and I must get my clients prepared!
So, how are you?
Also, Lauren Klein Jewelry is donating 10% of all sales in the month of October to breast cancer research in support of the 25th breast cancer awareness month.
It felt so good to get all of my obligations taken care of and have the rest of the day to relax and do things that I wanted to do without feeling guilty about not doing them. Of course I decided to do one of my favorite things. I went to the grocery store and bought my favorite gossip rags and headed to the pool.
There I sat, all afternoon reading entertaining magazines and soaking up the sun. It was so relaxing. I really should make an effort to start getting up early and staying up because I enjoy my day so much more. I love pool days!
We are in Walt Disney World right now, staying at Bay Lake Tower. We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Sunday and had a blast! CJ hasn't transferred all the pictures from the camera to the computer yet, but I have some good one here.
