Where Did September Go?

Posted in ,

Dante's birthday came and went like a whirlwind and today is my birthday but I have no time to celebrate, I need to pack for Disney and get as caught up as I can with work! I slacked when it came to a party for Dante--we all just went to Chuck E. Cheese's and then came back here for cake.

I had started to prepare for a kid party where he could invite some kids from school. I even went to invitationbox.com party invitations to order birthday party invitations but then I was reminded of the school rule: invite all kids in the class, only the boys, or only the girls. You can't pick who you want to invite--unless you send the invitation to their house and not hand them out in school. There are 26 kids in his class so I made the decision to just stick with a family party. He had a blast anyway!

Wyatt's Dreamcatcher

Posted in

Wyatt, my youngest, says when Gary (our orange cat) sleeps on his bed at night, he has bad dreams. I try to keep the cats out of the room but the boys share a bedroom and Dante doesn't like the door shut all the way at night. My mom gave me this dreamcatcher and I thought it would be perfect for Wyatt.

So far so good! He likes it and no complaints of bad dreams!

This Music Relaxes Me

Posted in

A little while back I came across cdbaby.com and found a friend of mine on there! KO - (Kevin O'Connor) - he is a seasoned and introspective guitar and vocal artist who has been performing and recording his original music in the New York area for 25 years.

I listened to clips of his latest recording here on his website: Soulful Sounds and enjoyed what I heard. Maybe I am biased because I know him? I dunno--I just know that I enjoy all types of music and this was enjoyable to me.

If you want some relaxing music to have on while going about your day, definitely check him out. If you like what you hear, you can buy his latest collection of songs on cdbaby - 175 Cherry Lane from KO

Blessed Mabon!

Today is officially the first day of Fall--well, here in the northern hemisphere ;) I have been so busy with work and getting ready for vacation that I still haven't even decorated my altar!!! I feel like such a slacker!

I will definitely get things up and arranged this weekend. I LOVE this time of year!

Sun and Moon Soaps

Posted in ,

When I picked Olivia up fro Jeff's house this morning she handed me these; sun and moon homemade soaps.

I don't know whether I should use them (they smell awesome and right now I cannot remember what scents she said were used. Will ask and then update later) or if I should use them for decoration. Maybe I will ask her to make me more so I can have the best of both worlds!

Downloading and Uploading Videos

Just a quick question for all you online video buffs: Which service do you prefer to use, Vimeo or YouTube? I usually have an easier time when I download from YouTube rather than Vimeo but I like the set up Vimeo has better than YouTube's.

Here is a video of the Witchlets a few years ago singing a Goddess song:

Birthdays, Mabon and Vacation

I was checking out term life insurance quotes because mine is about to run out (a few years but I want to be prepared and informed) and I realized these next two weeks of m life are going to be a blur!

Dante's birthday is tomorrow, he will be 6.

Mabon is on Friday and I still have to decorate my altar! Next Friday is my birthday! AND...next Saturday we leave for Disney! I am so overwhelmed and completely unfocused! I need to do more meditation to keep my mind clear and to keep me calm.

My Black Kitties

Posted in

I have 2 new additions to my furry family; Thunder and Lightning. These little guys are brothers, born in June. My friend's cat had kittens and that is how I acquired them.

Lightning is a bit thinner and has a tiny patch of white on his neck. Thunder is all black, although I have seen a few white hairs here and there. For some reason, they love to sleep in the bathroom sink!

Quick Shopping Question

Posted in

With the holidays coming up and some of my clients having online stores, I thought I would ask: Do you prefer to shop online at sites that offer promo codes or free shipping?

It has been such a debate lately about which is better; getting free shipping or getting a percentage off of items purchased? Personally, I would rather have a promo code instead of free shipping, but then again, it really depends on what I am buying. Sometimes shipping costs can kill ya!

A friend of mine owns a personalized baby gifts online store called "Baby Stuff Gifts" and I often help her promote the items she has -- as I would help anyone who has a reputable small business. A friend of mine (and now client), Sherry, has an online mineral makeup store as well as an actual storefront in Newport, RI -- Cosmetic Cosmos (http://www.cosmeticcosmos.com)

She is trying to get more Facebook fans as well as generate sales so she came up with a pretty cool incentive/promotion and I want to share:

On Facebook, "Like" Cosmetic Cosmos: https://www.facebook.com/CosmeticCosmos and receive a free cream eyeshadow set (a $19.50 value) with any order of $30 or over!

You can start your Yule shopping early and get something for yourself as well :-) If you don't buy from her, at least "Like" her Facebook page and check things out :D

Olivia's First Ritual

I found old photos - actual photos, not stored on my computer! Of course I had to scan them and now they are on my computer...how ironic! Ha!

Anyway, this is Olivia, I believe it was a Beltane ritual so she was about 14 months old in these pictures:

Grounding:

I miss these days. I can't believe she is already in 3rd grade!

Coupon Site

I have been sharing this with friends via email but then figured whipping up a blog post would be easier, LOL!

So, a Personal creation coupon is basically a coupon you can use for specific items. However, it is better than that, you get active coupons and discounts that can save you up to 20% on a wide variety of customized merchandise. I love customizing gifts. In fact, I always wanted clothes for the Witchlets that had their astrology signs on them - could never find them

Frustration With Comments!

Posted in

As I was searching for Data Mining Specialist Jobs for a friend of mine, (I was using Google Chrome), I popped over here to my blog to review a comment and noticed in Chrome the comments are all screwed up -- I have been using this JS-Kit comment system from Echo.

I have been fussing with this blog to fix it but if I revert back to regular comment system, this blog template is a complete mess. I am OK with HTML an CSS but no pro by any means. As much as I love this template, I am afraid I will have to keep this blog's template more on the plain side, just to fix the commenting issue so please bear with me over the next day or so while I get it fixed.
