Looking to Add to My Blogroll

Posted in

I have been "surfing the 'net" looking for other Pagan or Witchy type blogs to add to my blogroll and somehow I got stuck on the estate car insure blog--which is interesting, I might add, but certainly not on topic with this blog, lol.

If you'd like to add my blog to yours and vice versa, please leave me a comment :)

I forgot to mention in my last post. I also came across a list of fat burning foods that I am now trying to incorporate into my diet to help with weight loss. They are:

1. Cayenne Pepper
2. Ginger
3. Cinnamon
4. Apples and Berries
5. Citrus Fruits
6. Soybeans
7. Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)
8. Garlic
9. Seaweed
10. Green Tea

I am going to be doing more research on this but in the meantime, if anyone has anything to add, pleae let me know!

Went Back to the Gym

I started back at the gym this month..so far it is going okay it I will admit, sometimes I still do some research for the best weight loss pill because I feel like I need a little push.

Maybe I need to try the positive thinking exercise with weight loss too? I am 'positive' haha that it will at least help, not hinder, my weight loss goal. I do feel a lot better though, I feel more alive and not so sluggish!

Positive Thinking Update

Posted in

Last month I talked about clearing my skin with positive thinking, rather than having to use even the best acne products on the market.

Well, here's an update. It actually worked really well last month...this month, not so much! I don't know if there was added stress or maybe I didn't focus enough on the positive thinking but I am going to give it a try again next month.

Has anyone else tried this technique?

First Sabbat Assignment

Posted in , , ,

I gave Olivia her first Sabbat assignment. By Full Moon this month she needs to read about Imbolc and then write doewn, in her own words, what Imbolc is, colors and animals associated with it and then pick one craft and one recipe for us to make.

Every night she read before bed. She uses a flashlight or lantern light to read by. I told her I really wanted to get something to give her better lighting to read by but she like getting cozy in her bed and using what she uses.

Can't wait to she what she writes and to see what craft and recipe she picks!

Ideas for an Imbolc Altar

Posted in ,

What do you usually put on your Imbolc altar? Besides a white candle! I try to add something unique to my altar for each Sabbat; this year for Samhain I added a new boney bunch candle holder and for Yule I placed a few gold bars in the center.

Last year's Imbolc altar:

Maybe I should get a Brigid statue to place in the middle of the altar this year...

Pocket Pentacles

During the holidays, especially on Cyber Monday, I scoured the Internet looking for simple yet meaningful gifts to give to my Witchlets on Yule. The best gift they received though, was not from me, but from a dear friend and mentor, Mama Carmen.

She has a website where she sells handmade Pocket Pentacles and she sent these to my Witchlets for Yule.

Information from her website:
"The Pentacle is the symbol of the Wiccan religion, as is the Star of David in the Jewish faith or the Cross to the Christian. The star represents the elements - Earth, Air, Fire, Water - and Spirit. The circle represents the God/Goddess and/or the cycle of life, death and rebirth."
These Pocket Pentacles have been perfect for teaching my Witchlets all about what the pentacle symbolizes as well as color symbolism.

Carmen sent these to me in a beautiful box:

These are perfect to place on your altar or to carry with you. Carmen is a dear friend of mine; she performed Olivia's Wiccaning ceremony

Check out her website Pocket Pentacles and get a few of these for yourself or someone you love :)

Storing Potions

Posted in

Where do you keep your potions and magickal concoctions? I keep mine in a little cabinet in my dinning room. I also have a medicine cabinet in a closet upstairs that I use for storage.

I think medicine cabinets, or something similar, are perfect for storing potions, so long as they are not in the bathroom where humidity is high.
