I'd like to start meditating every morning. Right now, it's so random. Typically I like to meditate with music playing but when everyone is sleeping I always feel like I may wake someone up, so I think a good pair of headphones is the answer.
In the spring and summer, I like to meditate outside and the birds are enugh music for me :)
The most favorite Yule gift the Witchlets got was the Xbox360 with Kinect. This was the group gift CJ and I decided to get them and they love it! Here's Olivia playing one of the games:
We ordered it online from Gamestop and got next day delivery. I literally placed the order round 4pm and it was on our doorstep the very next afternoon! CJ's birthday is December 29th, I'm screwed unless I can find a place with same day delivery birthday gifts for him because I still didn't get him anything!
The eclipse will happen Monday night (TONIGHT!) on the West Coast and during the very early hours of Tuesday morning on the East Coast. Western Europe will only see the start of the spectacle and western Asia will only see the tail end.
Since the eclipse coincides with the Winter Solstice, the moon will appear high in the sky. The recent volcanic eruptions around the globe have dumped tons of dust into the atmosphere, so scientists predict the moon may appear darker than usual during the eclipse, glowing an eerie red or brown instead of the usual orange-yellow tinge.

I just got my hair cut and colored the other day but I can still see a few gray hairs--I know gray hairs are coarser/thicker and don't take to dye that well.
Upon examining my hair, my focus shifted to my face and I noticed a few wrinkles and dark circles under my eyes! I thought, "great, now I need to put old people products on my shopping list! And what the heck is the best eye cream for dark circles and where can I get wrinkle cream?"
I'm still in my 30's--my Witchlets are only 7, 5, and 4--I'm still in the Mother stage, right? Why do I feel like the Crone stage is creeping up on me? I can tell I am not going to handle growing old very well.
I have a little Zazzle store set up--actually I set it up almost 2 years ago and really didn't do much with it. At first I was going to set up a store focusing on vintage t shirts but I decided to go with something a bit more my style--babies :)
I breastfed all 3 of my Witchlets and I remember all the taboo surrounding it, even with my family! I created Boobjuice Boutique with a tad of humor but in all seriousness it's definitely for proud breastfeeding babies and mamas ;)
CJ and I did get the Witchlets Yule presents but instead of going with an ipod nano for each of them, we got an Xbox 360 with Kinect.
We decided on a group gift this year, something they could all enjoy together. I am seriously hoping we didn't just make a mistake. It was an expensive gift and well, I swear if they break it I will scream!
This was the scene last year of a Geminid meteor streaking across the sky over the Mojave Desert:
More than a hundred meteors an hour may fall overnight on December 13 and 14, the peak of the annual Geminid meteor shower--this should be a beautifully amazing site!
To See Geminids, Look to the East
Geminid meteors appear to radiate from the shower's namesake constellation, Gemini, the twins from Greek legend. Gemini will rise above the eastern horizon at about 9 p.m. local time, so sky-watchers should face northeast to spot the meteors.
Observers in the Northern Hemisphere will have the advantage, because that's where Gemini will appear high in the night sky, making most of the shooting stars visible.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it will simply be lower in the sky have a lower rate
Dozens of shooting stars should be visible over the course of the entire week. But the main peak of activity will center on the early morning hours of December 14, between about 2 a.m. and dawn.

Have you decorated for Yule yet? Olivia saw one of those cardboard displays they have in stores, of a decorated tree and she wants to put it in her room, LOL.
We haven't put up our tree yet and I haven't even switched my altar from Samhain to Yule yet! Sheesh I am slacking! We never decorate the outside so I don't need to worry about that.
What do you do? Do you go all out or just do a little?
Have you ever heard of someone just believing something and it happening--using positive thinking to crate something positive?
I always break out really bad when I ovulate and so I'm always trying some acne product to get the pimples under control. Lately I've been trying the power of positive thinking. Last month the breakouts were not as bad and this month, so far only one pimple!
I wish I would have thought about making a study out of this and that I would have taken before and after pictures. I am truly amazed at the results. Anyone else have excellent results with the power of positive thinking?
A few weeks ago I allowed Olivia to get her nails painted and have a pedicure at the nail salon I go to. She really loved it--they actually have pedicure chairs for kids...
I love the salon we go to--they have so many services available and they are super nice. They even sell products like beauty creams, under eye cream for dark circles, indoor tanning lotions, and hair care products and the prices are low. I am also partial because I have known the owner for over 10 years.
Normally I don't allow her to have her fingernails and toenails painted but oh well, she and I just wanted some bonding time.

I just got an email asking if I could help this person 'please the ladies' -- basically he wanted a spell for male enhancement--is that the proper way to describe it?
I get some odd requests but I must admit, this is the strangest one yet! Well, I said a while ago, I don't sell spells and I also don't do spells for other people. I will send positive energy love and light but I won't do a spell for anyone but myself.
When I say ritual, I don't mean in the magickal sense; I'm referring to what I do every night before bed :) Growing up, whenever I would sleep over at my grandparents' I noticed they had an evening ritual.
Grandma would always wash her face and use moisturizing night cream just before going to bed; and well, my grandfather always knelt at the side of the bed to say prayers. I remember wondering how long they followed this ritual of theirs.
I have a ritual before bed and it includes a very short meditation--if I have time. If not, I at least say a blessing before bed. The Witchlets also say a blessing. We made it up:
"Thank you God and Goddess for a wonderful day. Thank you for my family and my friends. Blessed Be"
